Complete renovation 150 m2 - Paris 12ème
This duplex was hiding a secret. Under the roof, the attic space was unfinished: exposed beams, no insulation, no floor. A wasted space of 70m². For this family of four, it was exactly what they needed.
Madame had a clear vision: a shower room and two spacious bedrooms for their children upstairs, a shared games room with a big screen and a library for comic books, and a laundry room. The spaces under the slope were to be used for storage of the gentleman's golf equipment, with dressing rooms in each bedroom. Nothing was to go to waste.
The aim is for each child to find their own place, their own cocoon. And for parents to be able to welcome their friends in peace.
The style was clear: industrial. A palette of greys, blacks and whites, with a touch of burgundy - Madam's favourite colour - to create contrast and a cosy, timeless ambience.
Metal and glass doors. The kitchen has a grey front with no handles, a pure effect contrasting with the terrazzo. Black and white checkerboard on the floor and sage green zellige on the walls in the guest shower room.
The games room: sliding glass partition to open up the space and avoid the corridor effect. Reversible air conditioning with underfloor cassettes, the only possible solution in the attic.
All the joinery was custom-made to fit the sloping roof. Grey bookcase following the slope in the youngest daughter's bedroom. Desk with built-in shelves for the eldest. Storage space above the WC. Wardrobes with drawers that fit perfectly into the space.
The fireplace columns have been transformed into headboards. The indus-style door follows the sloping ceiling. Every architectural recess has been carefully studied to integrate each element.
The result: unused space brought back to life. Every square metre optimised. Everyone back in their place.
